After Crash & Dash died we got this little guy. His name is Jr. and he is a little punk. He's always hiding from us, this was the best picture we could get.
Best my grades have been in a LONG time. I'm pretty happy about it. Especially because the 99 is in a MATH class. Yes you heard right, a math class.
This little experiment was for my SPED class (special ed). I had to wear each mask for an hour for 4 hours. It was really difficult because each mask was supposed to stimulate different kinds of vision impairments. The first mask i wore had a little hole in each eye that i had to look through. The next each eye was covered with like saran wrap. The best way I can describe it is if you have ever seen the claritin commercial where everything is foggy and then they peal back a layer and suddenly everything is clear? I can see clearly now. Well thats what it felt like. It was like looking through fog and you have to squint to see. I had to pull my notes real close to my face to see. We were looking at a power point in class & i had to squint real hard to make out the words. Then my teacher wrote something on the white board. No idea what it said, couldn't see it so I hope it wasn't important. The next mask was the one in the middle. Only one eye was covered so I couldn't see the entire left side of anything. I felt like a horse with blinders. It is not a fun feeling. My teacher asked me to say the prayer for class and when I stood up he was like "Oh we have the masked avenger praying for us today. Thanks Zorro!" It was funny but he teaches ECSE (early childhood special ed.) assessment and evaluation class. Hopefully he doesn't say stuff like that to kids with really disabilities. That mask made me tired because it was dark in there haha. The last mask I had to do was probably the hardest for a few reasons.
1.) I could see out of both eyes which you think would be easy... It made it harder because my peripheral vision was jacked! I had a pin hole on one side an an open eye the other.
2.) I left the building I had been in for the past 3 hours to get lunch with my friend on campus. (people who don't know what you're doing look at you funny. Makes you feel good about yourself..
3.) I got to the other building and knocked over an entire container of spoons. The girl at the counter was trying so hard not to get mad. I guess because I looked like I had a disability she felt bad and tried to be nice. I bent down to pick them up and was like here sorry. Her response..."Its fine. You'll just have to explain to millions of people why there are no spoons for their soup." (first of all its 55 out who is going to eat soup.) I said, "well there's only about 15 spoons so it shouldn't be too bad." Lawren's response was, "Its okay, she's wearing a mask." Because clearly that explains everything.
Thanks for helping out Lawren!
Other than that props to people with vision impairments, it was way hard and I only did it for 4 hours. Made me grateful for being able to see. Next week I get to do the same thing but in a wheel chair! Look out people on campus!
[Other stuff that's happened recently...]
chilled in walmart like this waiting for the redbox line to die down. people laughed at me.
Laura said we were going to cali (we decided to pack) Apparently only our fav. pillows, stuffed animals & bathing suits & a knife. Nothing else seemed important at the time (it was like 12:30am)
Went to a rodeo in Rexburg for some high school competition.
FHE group at Bishops house. We had a cinco de mayo party, but really it was a 7 de mayo party. We had a pinata & tacos. Then roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.
thats about all i've got for now.

Well, if you had to do something like that with crutches, you wouldn't even have to try too hard. You've got those down, no problem!
ReplyDeleteseriously! i do have to do a wheelchair though and that will be a new experience!
