First of all sometimes it likes to snow in May... thankfully it hasn't done that in a while
Second, i love getting mail! I got a letter from my best friend & it's now hanging on my wall.
<3
Third, i got new glasses! They finally aren't crooked!
Now to the story of the tumble...
I was walking home from class last week and there are 5 steps down this path to my apt complex. Well i was on the last step and i went to step off of it and my ankle (the one that i've messed up a million times from basketball etc.) decided to give out. It rolled right out from underneath me, i went down and landed on it, not all of my weight fortunately. However the rest of my weight landed on my left knee, ripping my pants and leaving a nice little cut and bruise on it. Awesome. I went to stand up and could barely put pressure on it, i limped home and sat down on the couch wanting to cry from the pain. I quickly elevated it, called my mom and she said i should probably go have it checked out, as did my roommates. Stubborn as i am, i didn't want to go, i was just going to wait it out but one of my roommates went and found someone with a car, who then came and got me and drove me to the health center. After talking with the Dr. who when looking at it said,"Well that doesn't look like it should be there. Hmm... it hurts right there doesn't it? (as he pushed on it, and yes it did) had me get x-rays. When the x-rays came back, nothing was broken, he looked at them and said i just pulled some of the ligaments which is why it swelled up and had some color to it. He wrapped it and told me to keep it iced and elevated for a few days, take some ibuprofen and try walking on it as soon as possible so it would heal quickly. Since i still couldn't put weight on it, he gave me crutches to use for a couple days. Anyone who knows me and has ever used crutches knows i only lasted 2 days on them. It was more of a hassle using them walking to campus than anything, so i just limped. But this is the results of falling...
Thank goodness it no longer looks like a tennis ball.
This wouldn't be such a big deal, except ripped jeans are not allowed on BYU-I campus...
You can kind of see the bruise, which is almost gone.
and the oh so dreaded crutches, they were good for one thing... well maybe a few things.
I got a ride home from class, i used them to reach for things when i was on the couch or couldn't reach something in the kitchen, or if i wanted to hit my roommates (kind of kidding on the last one). Overall walking with them, pretty much sucks. The end.
Also apt 21 has been real bored late at night and made a band with that comes a CD we are making on garage band. After this incident Sam & Julia made a song about my fall called, Lizzy Had A Tumble.
Maybe later i'll try posting it.
